A Sweet Treat...

to help ease the burn of a scorching summer:

Thanks to Glamour I recently had the chance to do some research on Skinny Cow! Hard work, I know! ;) 

The hard part was choosing which product to pick out of the grocery store freezer!  Hey this Texas heat is nothing to take lightly and a temporary relief  is always needed! 

The product I choose was the Chocolate Truffle. Let me just say...YUM!!! Their decadent taste will fool you because since they use low fat ice cream they are able to bring this yummy goodness to us in just 100 calories! How is this even possible? I have no idea, but thanks to Nestle and Skinny Cow they have found a way!

Nothing makes me happier than great skin! So when the Glambassadors program asked me to try out Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser I was excited. 

After years of using the Biore Pore Strips I had high hopes for the brand's cleanser. It did not disappoint. With my overly sensitive skin breakouts are an unfortunate occurrence when trying many new products. In the case of the Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser I had no issues with pesky breakouts. It left my face feeling moisturized, very soft. The product sells at a very competitive price point and I say it is a very good addition to my beauty routine!

Snapshots from Roswell, New Mexico

Those of you who have read Joy De Vivre for a bit have probably noticed that I love ghosts, aliens, conspiracy theories and anything that is a mystery. This includes Roswell, New Mexico. Some believe that in 1947 a UFO crashed outside of Roswell and the debris was investigated at the Roswell Army base. Fact or fiction? Who knows, but the town that has capitalized on this event,or nonevent, is a fun place to visit. 

 The UFO Museum has a huge collection of newspaper articles, photos and paraphernalia based on aliens. There are also several exhibits that I featured earlier in my Hipstamatic photos. 

Being that we were on our way home and weren't staying the night in Roswell I truly appreciated the fact that they allowed Barkley inside the museum. They are very pet friendly and the sweet lady in the gift shop even gave him a plush alien to take home. 

Aliens were plentiful from the light posts, Coke machines, just about every store window...so I had to get into the spirit. 

What are your opinions on aliens? Possibility or fiction made for Hollywood?

Road Trip-Santa Fe, New Mexico

For years I have wanted to visit Santa Fe. Loving the pueblo style of architecture and the culture of Native Americans I knew that I would adore this town.  I did and more! From the gorgeous architecture, streets lined with artisans and galleries, churches full of history and the Georgia O' Keefe museum, this city is now on my places that I must return to list!

 What are your favorite places to visit?

I feel as if I owe an apology to my blog for being out for so long! From time to time it is good to take a break, though this time out was one was filled with bronchitis (that still by the way after a month has not vacated the premises) and overtime on my "real" job. 

I do hope that this hello finds all of you well!
