Am I the Lone Person

who has never seen Twilight, New Moon or Eclipse? Not totally devoid of pop culture, I do know who Kristen Stewart is. There is an awareness of the whole Team Rob vs Team Taylor showdown. I think I am just going to chalk this whole disinterest up to being in the wrong age bracket and I will let the younger generation have this whole phenomenon.

My youth looked more like this:

The Lost Boys was my vampire movie of choice!

Cottage Craze

Admittedly I am not the outdoorsy type of girl. I am afraid of just about everything and the thought of running across a snake is more than I can handle. However, I have always imagined having a little cottage out by a running stream. It would be furnished with perfect little flea market finds that cost cents, but would look fantastic.

If you have Yahoo as your homepage you may have run across the story yesterday of Sandra Foster who has created this quaint little Victorian cottage all for just $3000!

It is an adult sized doll house!

Now I am on a cottage craze! Check out these other adorable cottages that will make you want to downsize your current digs!

So I Have Been Missing in Action

...but I have been having a great time! This week we traveled to Wichita, KS and Tulsa, OK to see Papa Roach. As always I can not say enough about how awesome these guys are to see live and how great they are to everyone that comes out to meet them. Photobucket
Myself, Tobin, Tony, Diana, Jagger, Jacoby, Kaylee, Jerry and Gabriel

The Texas girls, some who are not in this pic, and Gabe took up almost the entire front row of the pit. This is our after picture! :) We had such a blast from chatting with the guys, to pretending our car had broken down so we could sneak ten people in the secured bus area and meeting new friends. Now the countdown begins to do it all again!

I have been so exhausted since I have been home that I haven't had a chance to say hello to you all so I hope all is going well with everyone. Fill me in on what is new in your part of the world!

Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?

When I first met Jami on the Etsy forums I immediately knew that I had to show you all her shop Variation. She specializes in beaded dolls that can be used as charms and pendants. They each have fine details that add so much personality to these little creations.

Little Handmade Doll Ornament Pendant

This little doll may be small in stature at a height of 2 1/2 inches, but it is full of charm!
A hand painted face, along with vintage glass and Lucite beads and a crocheted head scarf all went into its creation. Please note this is not intended for use as a toy for children.

Handmade Doll, Charm or Pendant

This little doll is ready for the summer with its aqua Lucite collar and yellow and orange beads. Use as a charm or a pendant by using the small loop on the top of its head.

Bead Doll Post Card

What is just as cute as Jami's beaded dolls? A post card featuring them! Measuring 5.75"X 4" it is professionally printed and the front is laminated.

This week if you are the lucky winner of the weekly giveaway you will be receiving :

A Friday Smile for You

There are times that art exists to make us think, to bring about change or to tell a story. Then there are times that its only purpose is to be fun and whimsical, such as the Jeff Koons sculptures:

Rabbit

Balloon Dog in Green

Ring

Balloon Dog

Tulips

While these sculptures may not change the world, they certainly will bring a smile to all who see them and that is enough in my book!

Which one is your favorite?

Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?

This week our Etsy shop is going to be a treat to all of the readers who have little ones. I realized that "Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?" rarely has shops featuring things for children so this week I give you Devon Rose! The name, Devon Rose, is derived from shop owners Emily and Isaac's daughter, who also happens to be the shops adorable model. The shop offers sizes from 3-6 months up to six years. They are open to custom requests though so feel free to send a convo to them if you need a different size!

OOAK Garlands and Wreaths Mini

Devon Rose is wearing a size 2T one of a kind mini dress here. It is handmade from vintage cotton with crochet ribbon straps.

Fruit Stripe Skinnys

These colorful leggings are a cotton/lycra blend featuring french seams, cotton crochet trim and zig-zag stitching. The waistband is encased elastic to ensure maximum comfort for your little kiddo! They are available in sizes 3-6m up to 4T, but this fabric is limited so please take note.

OOAK Young Poets Blouse

This pure cotton embroidered top is a one of a kind piece in a size 3 to 4T. The Young Poets Blouse features a swiss dot fabric, french seams, zig-zag stitching, tie front closure and antique picot lace trim.

This week if you are weekly winner you will receive:

The Crochet Crop Leggings are a great layering piece made of organic pointelle and an intricate cotton crochet trim.

Anthropologie You Have Some Explaining to Do

I love Anthropologie as you may have noticed on my blog from time to time. Yes their things are generally ridiculously over priced, but when I step into the store it is as if I have suspended all good sense. I start trying on everything I see. I pray that I will hate it all so I will not be tempted to buy these things that I know in good conscience I do not need. Then maybe one particular cardigan would look great in the spring AND in the fall so the price per wear would be mere pennies! Perhaps that dress I don't need makes my thighs look smaller! Now that is something I NEED so it is well worth paying full price. I mean a dress is much cheaper than liposuction! By the time I end up at the cash register my head is spinning from all the loveliness and the guilt of over indulgence!

As I confess my adoration however, looking at their website today I am a bit worried about one particular item:

While this looks like a perfectly sweet little number from the front-cute, dainty and very easy breezy for the summer...

when you walk away this would happen!

At first sight I immediately thought that by donning this you would have a cute little ruffly duck bootie going on.

Then I kept looking at this, the Zennith dress, and I realized the horror that could come from it! For this is just not the right ensemble for those of us with a little more in the back area, shall I say those of us with J.Lo booties. And while I always wonder why girls like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian are famous for little more than having fat butts and mine has yet to catapult me to fame, I don't think dressing it up with layers of ruffles to swat out at people as I walk by is going to help me out any!
