Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?

Little Bird in a Beehive came into being on Etsy in January of this year. The creation of Benita from Melbourne, Australia, the shop houses gift tags, cards, handmade paper, accessories, earrings, brooches, and hair clips. Though Benita is now a full time secondary teacher, teaching English to students who speak other languages, she has not forgotten her childhood passion. From an early age she was a crafter, even painting found snail shells, and selling necklaces on her driveway. Now allowing the snails to keep their shells, this entrepreneur uses old book pages, watercolour, sewing and stamps to bring her ideas to life. Asked where she gets her inspiration Benita responded, "All over the place, art blogs I read, a leaf I walk past in the street, a piece of fabric I see, my mum, a bird or plant in the garden, a scrap of conversation I hear in the playground, a market, a gift..I think the more you act on the things that inspire you, the more likely things are to inspire you.. you just have to be open to the inspiration".

Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?

One look at Happy Kathy on Etsy might just have you taking a stroll down memory lane. Retro fabrics, Pac Man themed passport covers, adorable bicycle wallets and as if those things weren't enough to send me straight back to my carefree days of the 1980's, all of these designs are created by Sarah from Astoria, Oregon, the setting for The Goonies! Not only has Sarah captured my youth in her designs, she also has modern and floral designs to please all tastes. Wallets, totes, handbags and more can be found at Happy Kathy. Named after her late mother Kathy, Sarah enjoyed seeing her smile and wanted to make that memory live on in her designs. I am sure after you see her shop you will agree with me that smiles are contagious at Happy Kathy!

A Glimpse of San Francisco..

Recently I spent some time in sunny California. Unfortunately it turned out to be one of the coldest times they have had since the 1970's. Despite being windblown, rain soaked and hail beaten we still managed to have a great time!
