Glamour Teams Up With Style & Co.

Recently a lucky few of my fellow Glambassadors took part in a styling event to find their perfect denim. Since most of us dread shopping for jeans, in fact I personally feel the need for therapy after the task, I wanted to share their helpful tips! Style expert Lilliana Vazquez dishes on her recent video shoot with Style & co. and the head-to-toe jean makeovers she gave to four gorgeous Glamour readers. Check out the full video and get insider denim tips from Lilliana at:
For more on Style & Co. check out your local Macy's or click here.

Hi Long Lost Friends!

Well I didn't mean to run away from home for so long..but it appears that I did! I hope this finds all of you well! Let's play catch up..shall we?

My family from Tennessee came down for a visit. We had a great time, even if outdoor activities during Texas summers feel like the they are taking place in a sauna.

My cousins were jumping for joy to see me! LOL!

Brookelyn has become a mini me...shopaholics unite! So sorry to her dad for that! Must blame the genetics.

After my family visited, Gabe and I went to our favorite vacation spot...New York City.

We didn't see a show this time, but I love seeing the lights on Broadway and the posters advertising the musicals.

The Savage Beauty exhibit at the Met which was done in honor of Alexander McQueen was exceptional. I was so exited to be able to make it to the city in time to see the collection.

It is always awesome to see a familiar face in a different city! Once again the lovely Dorkys, from Dry As Toast, was a gracious host! This time we were able to meet her boyfriend Andrew who was a more knowledgeable tour guide than some of the people working for the double-decker buses! We spent the afternoon eating an assortment of yummy treats, but thankfully we walked most of those calories off. And if not those gelato pops and candies were worth it!

The Empire State Building was patriotic for the 4Th of July.

We took in the NBC tour one morning. While seeing the set of Saturday Night Live was interesting, I must say it was pretty uneventful. The only studio tour I have ever found to be worth the price was the Warner Brothers one out in LA for anyone planning a trip out there.
I finally got to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge!!!!! I have always wanted to, but never got around to it until this trip. Here we are with Mark, our friend from the city, who we have since adopted as our lil brother.

After we came back from the city, sad to leave our favorite place and friends that are always a blast to be around, I came back to working 60+ hours a week. Not that I am complaining, jobs are hard to come by nowadays...but it has left me leaving the things I enjoy doing sitting by the wayside. Which is why I have not checked in with you all lately!

How have you been? Please fill me in! :)

The Start of the Summer Season...

I know summer doesn't officially start for a few more days, but I am in Texas and it is felt like summer since March. Things are off to a rolling start,(caution...picture overload ahead!). ..

For Memorial Day weekend we went to Little Rock for their annual concert festival. We had a great time seeing good friends and good tunes!

While there we stayed at the Peabody Hotel. If anyone is going to that area I highly recommend it...plus I enjoyed seeing the ducks swimming around in their fountain in the lobby.

Barkley had his first trip to the airport to pick up our friends. I was a little afraid that he may bite someone so I dressed him up cute. Who can get mad at Spiderman for nipping at them? Thankfully he did not play the role of Kujo while there.

We had a celebratory outing for work at Main Event, which is like Dave and Buster's for those who do not have one in the area. So much fun to step away from the daily duties to enjoy the company of my friends and coworkers.

My girls! Had a great time having them all with me here in Houston for yet another concert! My hearing will never be the same...but it sure was fun!!

How have all my bloggy friends been?
I hope the weather is treating you well and those of you up north are finally thawing out!

On a side note "Have You Seen This Etsy Shop?" will return in July! Things have been so hectic that I didn't feel like I could give the feature my full attention. Rest assured though it will be back to showcase handmade goodies from amazing crafters!

Happy Monday

Sometimes Mondays can be a bit overwhelming! I am trying to get back into the swing of things after a nasty bout of allergies. Come to find out my nose and throat do much better in the desert than the humid south!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and a great start to your week! What is going on with you all?

By the way is that not the coolest picture! I ran across it on flickr and thought it was too cool not to share (the photographer is JD Hancock).

Shopaholic Sundays-Sephora Edition

Anyone who has visited Joy De Vivre knows that one of my favorite past times is shopping. A second favorite hobby is sharing great finds with all of you...so with this I give you our new feature-Shopaholic Sundays! Sunday posts will now include things that I have found either online or in store and feel that you all will enjoy!

For the first ever Shopaholic Sundays I give you some of my favorite beauty buys from Sephora:

While in Vegas I wore this Urban Decay All Nighter. I was simply amazed at how well it kept my makeup intact. The sandy wind, hot sun and standing at an outdoor concert for eight hours did not stand a match for this product! This one comes in two sizes..try the small one if you doubt me, but I trust you will be going back to purchase more! ;)

Michael Kors Leg Shine has a light bronze tint and a very fresh scent. Whether your tan is just starting or you are already golden, this product will make you sparkle.

Dior Lip Maximizer will help you achieve the perfect pout. For years my dear friend Delia and I have scoured the beauty counters looking for the perfect lip plumper. We have tried and looked in the mirror so many times, tried to convince ourselves they were working...and nada! Until now! I actually tried the Dior Lip Maximizer first through a Glambassador event and I will never be without it now! This is the first plumper I have found that creates noticeably fuller lips without the fake fish pout, aka the Lindsay Lohan (sorry, not to kick a girl when they are down, but that is not becoming).

Once again Harajuku Lovers brings us adorable creations in the form of a makeup bag collection! The G of the Sea bags are a fun way to carry all of your makeup, sunscreen, etc for the season! Also check out the G of the Sea limited fragrance showcasing the same glitzy mermaid!

Also please note that I am not being paid to represent any of the products featured. They are simply things that I adore!
