Am I the Lone Person

who has never seen Twilight, New Moon or Eclipse? Not totally devoid of pop culture, I do know who Kristen Stewart is. There is an awareness of the whole Team Rob vs Team Taylor showdown. I think I am just going to chalk this whole disinterest up to being in the wrong age bracket and I will let the younger generation have this whole phenomenon.

My youth looked more like this:

The Lost Boys was my vampire movie of choice!
What were your must see movies growing up?

I LOVE your movie list. Those were the days! Some of my favorites were Weird Science, Monster Squad and Ghostbusters.

The whole romantic vampire thing has become so out of hand, we often forget that they're supposed to be bad.

I recently went back and read "Salem's Lot" which was first published in the 70's. It was inspired by old Dracula comics. I found it so refreshing to be scared of vampires again!

Thanks so much Mortira! Those were the Days! Oh those are great choices you listed as well! I agree, vampires were not meant to be the good guys! I have never read "Salem's Lot". I need to put that one on my must read list for October. I love to spook myself out during Halloween! LOL!

I loved Gremlins (well, Phoebe Cates anyway...)

I loved the "Love Bug" movies (gosh, I am soooo old!) "First Encounters of the Third Kind", all the original 3 of "Star Wars", "Raiders of the Lost Ark", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", "Jaws", "Harold and Maude" (a must see if you haven't!) and I was an old youth when "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" came out.

I gotta say I watched all those movies growing up and love them. BUT I love Twilight also. The story is very creative and well done. I have always been so scared of vampires. So, it was refreshing for me to actually be able to watch a movie with vampires in it. I never thought I would like it, but I gave it a chance and fell in love with the story. People end up NOT wanting to watch it because the media crams it down your throat. BUT maybe if you just rent it from blockbuster like I did, you might actually enjoy it. I still can't watch the movie "JAWS", it really scares me. lol

Those were some of my favorites, too! And, no, you're not alone. I'm not at all into the vampire movies. Of course, I have children, so I rarely see any movie that isn't animated.
