Anthropologie You Have Some Explaining to Do

I love Anthropologie as you may have noticed on my blog from time to time. Yes their things are generally ridiculously over priced, but when I step into the store it is as if I have suspended all good sense. I start trying on everything I see. I pray that I will hate it all so I will not be tempted to buy these things that I know in good conscience I do not need. Then maybe one particular cardigan would look great in the spring AND in the fall so the price per wear would be mere pennies! Perhaps that dress I don't need makes my thighs look smaller! Now that is something I NEED so it is well worth paying full price. I mean a dress is much cheaper than liposuction! By the time I end up at the cash register my head is spinning from all the loveliness and the guilt of over indulgence!

As I confess my adoration however, looking at their website today I am a bit worried about one particular item:

While this looks like a perfectly sweet little number from the front-cute, dainty and very easy breezy for the summer...

when you walk away this would happen!

At first sight I immediately thought that by donning this you would have a cute little ruffly duck bootie going on.

Then I kept looking at this, the Zennith dress, and I realized the horror that could come from it! For this is just not the right ensemble for those of us with a little more in the back area, shall I say those of us with J.Lo booties. And while I always wonder why girls like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian are famous for little more than having fat butts and mine has yet to catapult me to fame, I don't think dressing it up with layers of ruffles to swat out at people as I walk by is going to help me out any!

Hilarous comparison!!! It's such a cute dress, but I know for me, I don't need anything pointing out my be-hind and how big it is!

I HATE HATE HATE ruffles. If I wear them I look like I am 12 years old. { I am only 4' 9" } Ruffles and I do not get along. lol

Ha ha, that's perfect and I would never have thought of it! (well, maybe if I'd tried it on...)

Fortunately we don't have Anthropologie in Canada, because I've been on their website and I don't think my bank account could take it!

I think the dress is super cute. I agree that it may not be ideal for those of us with super booties, but it would be great for someone with less than an hourglass shape. The ruffles add volume, and with the shape drawing the eye up and into the waist it would help create a more hourglass shape to anyone who might not naturally have it.

I have to say, your "justifications" for purchasing things are most creative. "price per wear - mere pennies" and the "cheaper than liposuction".

Is Daisy Duck married? Just asking...

Pamela-LOL thanks! It is so cute, but I don't need any help in that area either! :)

Jessie-I like them on tops and used certain ways, but the back end does not need any extra bulk!

Victoria-LOL It was late last night my mind was rambling! :) I am glad that the one closest to me is still thirty minutes away so I will not be tempted to drive all the time. Otherwise my bank account would not be doing too well either!

Hundy and Undy-I do think it is cute too, just not cute for me. :) For a girl with little junk in the trunk it could give them a little more fluff!

Intense Guy-Oh that is nothing! LOL! You should have heard me the time I was trying to convince my previous boss, who always lectures me on shopping, that I did indeed need the new shoes I bought. If I didn't have shoes I couldn't even go to work because you have to have shoes on to protect your feet there! Furthermore I also needed the clothes I bought for without clothes you would get arrested walking down the street. Paying a ticket for being disorderly in public was bound to cost more than my new clothes. LOL! He walked away after that! :D

LOL I hear she has had a long affair with a certain Donald, but she is looking like a bit of a floozie in that picture so you never know!

Yeah this dress was cute until I saw the back. Who wants to make their butt look even bigger with this dress? Not me!

Adrienne-LOL! Yeah you know I am always trying to minimize! :) I knew you would comment on this post! :)

LOL Yeah I don't think I will be trying this one on anytime soon. That butt ruffle will not be flattering on me. It did look pretty good on Kim over on Anthroholic though.
